This route takes you along the back roads all the way to Smitswinkel in Oudtshoorn where you can stop for a break and to fill up on good food. Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world. Once you’re through the Montagu Pass, it is a very gradual decent most of the way to Oudtshoorn. Pace yourself because the return trip has roughly the same elevation gain going back to George and can be misleading.
