Are all the routes new?
No, not all. All the routes from our previous website are still included.
I’ve completed the purchase process but can’t find my download.
On checkout completion, most browsers should redirect automatically to your download. If not…
1) The checkout process redirects you to your account login, sign in with the email you provided + pass code sent to your inbox.
2) Check your inbox (and or spam folder). You will receive an email with your completed order. This will contain a link to your download package.
How do I join for hiking or biking?
We do not organise hiking, running or cycling outings or events ourselves, to join you need to contact a local club for their schedule.
There are a couple of honourable mentions on our Ambassadors page (under “Community” in the menu).
You can also search Facebook pages & groups.
Can you send me information on events?
MTB, trail running and hiking events are organised independently by clubs and/or event organisers in the area. Some of them submit info to us for use on the website. You need to contact them directly for more information on events. We only list events on request.

Explain the different “elevation” terminology found on elevation charts?
Here are the key elevation terms you will find on a trail profile, and what each one actually measures:
Elevation Gain / Total Ascent:
What it is: The total cumulative vertical distance you climb over the entire route.
Why it matters: This is the best measure of the physical climbing effort and difficulty of a route. If a trail has many short ups and downs, this number will be much higher than the ‘Elev Difference.’
They are Interchangeable: In practical use, “Elevation Gain” and “Total Ascent” refer to the same thing.
Total Descent:
What it is: The total cumulative vertical distance you go down throughout the route.
Why it matters: This indicates the total amount of downhill, which can be taxing on leg muscles and joints.
Measures of Altitude Range (The Altitude Reference Points)
Max. Elevation (Highest Elev):
What it is: The highest altitude (height above sea level) reached at any point on the trail.
Why it matters: Useful for knowing the highest point you will reach on the mountain/peak.
Min. Elevation:
What it is: The lowest altitude (height above sea level) reached at any point on the trail.
Why it matters: Defines the floor of the route’s vertical range.
Elev Difference:
What it is: The vertical difference between the Max. Elevation and the Min. Elevation of the route.
Why it matters: It tells you the vertical range of the terrain, but it is not a measure of climbing effort. For example, a 20 km loop starting and ending at the same point (with many hills in between) might have a high “Elevation Gain” but a low or zero “Elev Difference.”
