On 18/12/2025, a contracting team from CTC will start working at Compartment C6 Witfontein.
Their aim is to clean and clear underneath all mature Gum compartments. The purpose is to remove or destroy possible dropper and lath products. The latter is a huge carrot to thieves. An advantage will be to have a clear compartment with good visibility right through.
Nhkumanya Investment will be the operating Contractor – vehicles will be marked as far as possible. This same contractor – adhering to all legal requirements and having CTC’s approval to legally remove usable products coming from this operation. This recovery will form part of the payment for work done. The public is notified to adhere to all safety measurements and signboards at such operations.
Advantages to CTC, forestry in general, as well as safety to the public, are the prevention of criminal activities, bush sleepers, and possible wildfires.
